The Bitcoin IFA — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 August 2026

1. Who we are

The Bitcoin IFA is a trading name of COL Publishing Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), which provides education, training and resources on Bitcoin and digital assets. For the purposes of UK data protection law, COL Publishing Ltd is the data controller. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (registration reference ZB957937).

You can contact us about this policy or your data by email at info@thebitcoinifa.com, or by post at: The Bitcoin IFA, 3rd Floor, 86–90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE.

2. The information we collect

  • Contact and professional details you give us — such as your name, email address, firm name and role — when you complete our Readiness Scorecard, sign up to our newsletter, join our membership, book a call, or contact us.

  • Your responses to our scorecard and anything else you submit through our forms.

  • Records of our correspondence and your dealings with us (enquiries, bookings, membership activity).

  • Technical and usage data — such as IP address, browser, device and how you use our website — collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies.

We don't intentionally collect special category data, and we ask that you don't send it to us.

3. How we collect it

Directly from you (via forms, the scorecard, email, bookings and our membership platform), and automatically through cookies when you use our website.

4. How we use your information, and our lawful bases

  • To provide what you've asked for — generating and sending your scorecard results, running your membership, responding to an enquiry. Lawful basis: performance of a contract, and/or our legitimate interests in responding to you.

  • To send you marketing — our newsletter and updates for advisers — where you've opted in. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

  • To run, protect and improve our business and website. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests, balanced against your rights.

  • To meet legal and regulatory obligations. Lawful basis: legal obligation.

5. Marketing

We only send marketing emails if you've opted in. Every one includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Opting out won't stop service messages you've asked for, such as your scorecard results.

6. Who we share your information with

We don't sell your personal data, and we don't share it with third parties for their own marketing. We use trusted providers who process data on our behalf under contract, including: Wix (website hosting), ScoreApp (scorecard and lead capture), Kajabi (membership, courses and newsletter), HubSpot (CRM), and Google (calendar and call bookings). Some are based outside the UK (for example, the United States); where data is transferred outside the UK we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement/Addendum or an adequacy decision. We may also disclose information where required by law.

7. How long we keep it

Only as long as necessary — for as long as you remain a subscriber, member or contact, and a reasonable period afterwards to meet our legal, accounting and record-keeping obligations. After that we securely delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can: access the data we hold about you; ask us to correct or delete it; object to or restrict our processing; request portability; and withdraw consent at any time (this won't affect processing done beforehand). To exercise any of these, email info@thebitcoinifa.com. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk — though we'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.

9. Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your preferences and understand how it's used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the "last updated" date above.
